I do sleep a lot. And yes, it’s because I’m exhausted. I never analyZed WHY exactly I was exhausted. But the 2 reasons given here ring true.
Definitely a side effect of some depression meds. WHY oh WHY?? would they make you sleep even more when you’re depressed?? Doesn’t sound smart to me! But sometimes we have no choice in the meds we have to take.
Yes, coping with suicidal thoughts can only be accomplished by oblivion in sleep, sometimes. Sometimes the exhaustion can work in my favor, like in this case. Suicide is too much trouble, when you can’t even lift your head.
I never thought of sleeping as feeling “safe”. But it might be true for me, I just never analyZed it like that before.
I definitely have retreated into sleep before, when I was overwhelmed by my life, and unable to deal with it, in the moment.
